What the Teach Discovering Our Countryside Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) offers your classroom?
Essentially Primary Cross-Curricular Topics for KS1 & KS2 but in a new and innovative way…… that will save you curriculum time!
By using farm animals and crops our teaching themes and food stories will save you curriculum time as your pupils learn the required science of plants and animals they will at the same time understand seasonality, where food comes from and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared and processed.
Each subject is designed as a self contained, yet integrated lesson plan that builds up the pupils’ knowledge and interest in the countryside. Themes make extensive use of video bringing the farm yard and countryside up close and personal right in your classroom. All themes start with an entry point video designed to ask some of the big questions which pupils can return to at the end of the unit, equipped with the knowledge to debate some of these topical issues such as: Food Miles, Chemical Spray, Cattle TB and badgers
