Nineveh Trust Funding Award

Nineveh Trust LogoNineveh Trust have awarded Discovering-our-Countryside funds to help develop our concept of  primary children’s education related farm visits .

We have made a series of videos in 2012/2013  showing the progress of animals, plants and the environment through the annual seasonal cycles. Changes to the primary school curriculum from September 2014 mean schools and teachers have less ‘free’ time and are required to deliver new lesson structures.

FarmVisits_Cattle_02We are developing lesson plans, supported by seasonal videos, to enable teachers to teach the science curriculum using food production (farming/growing) as the examples to expand the concepts required by the new curriculum.

We have recruited ten primary schools to help us and are working with a large arable farm nr Market Weighton to host the farm visits. Our initial attempts are now available on our Virtual Learning Platform (VLE)  Teach.Discovering-Our-Countryside http://teach.discovering-our-countryside.co.uk/  You can view a sample as a guest or register with us for a free trial – just contact us and send us your school details – contact now
